Connexions4Youth

The functions of the former partnership are now subsumed to the Local Authority ( from 1 April 2007)

The service is able to provide any of the following: information, advice, guidance, counseling, personal development opportunities, advocacy or onward referral to specialist agencies for young people using its provision.

It is particularly concerned with young people who are teenage mothers, care leavers, those supervised by Youth Offending Service and people with learning difficulties or disabilities.

Staff should read paragraphs 2.118 to 2.120 of "Working Together to Safeguard Children" as revised in 2006

Staff also need to be familiar with chapter 4 of "Statutory Guidance on Making Arrangements to Safeguard and Promote the Welfare of Children Under Section 11 of the Children Act 2004" which is available from the document library in these procedures.
