What to do if you have an immediate concern

Agency Staff

  1. Check your own Agency's Child Protection Procedures for details of the individual manager or named person with whom you should discuss your concerns

  2. Follow your Agency Procedure
  3. If there is no Agency Procedure speak to the Helpdesk by telephoning 01952 385700 and discuss the matter with them. Follow up your call, within 24 hours, with a written statement of your concerns.
  4. If the child is in serious physical danger now, ring Emergency services (999) for Police back up and take any action you judge it is safe for you to take to allay the danger.

Members of the Public

  1. Contact the Helpdesk (phone 01952 385700) and discuss the cause of your concern with them. Helpdesk staff are trained to offer advice and to decide on what course of action needs to be followed in the circumstances.
  2. Alternatively contact West Mercia Constabulary (phone 0300 333 3000) and speak to the Public Protection Unit.
  3. If the child is in serious physical danger now, ring Emergency services (999) and report the circumstances to the Police
