Juvenile Young Offenders' Institutions
Governors/Directors must have regard to the agreed policies for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children held in custody. These policies are published in Prison Order 4950 "Juvenile Regimes". There is, at present, no JYOI in Telford & Wrekin. However young people from the Borough may be placed in such institutions elsewhere. This duty applies nationally.
