Voluntary Organisations
Family and Children’s Centres, Day Nurseries, Childminders, Pre-school Groups, Holiday Activity Groups and Out of School Schemes
There are a wide selection of services for children and their families provided through voluntary organisations. Staff and volunteers must be aware of their organisation’s procedures.
Other Agencies commissioning services through such organisations will need to be assured that their policies for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children are robust and are within the parameters of these procedures.
Voluntary organisations may obtain information, or may make observation of matters relating to the welfare of children, which are of concern. They may also be reliable sources of information about family circumstances and should always be consulted when assessment is taking place.
