STATEMENT OF POLICY
Preventing Criminal Activity
The Board recognises the particular additional needs of some children and young people whose safety is threatened by the criminal activity of adults and other children or young people. They expect agencies to exercise robust staff selection procedures referring to the key standards documentation and to Recruitment and Selection Procedures ( see document library). Agencies are to be watchful for such criminal activities occurring whether or not a staff member is involved; and, to take appropriate action to ensure that the welfare of the child is safeguarded and promoted.
