Sensitivity to and redirection of Expressed Concerns

Our constituent agencies will all be sensitive to the needs of children and their family members. We will view positively any request by a family member or a carer for help.

Staff will listen to concerns expressed to them and will seek to help people to direct their concerns to the appropriate agency. This may involve taking pro-active steps to ensure that the connection is made.

We accept that an appeal for help is a positive sign and indicates that a parent or family member is exercising their responsibility. Appeals for help do not indicate weakness or failure, but a degree of self understanding and a potentially realistic view of the situation.
