Child Protection Plan
Staff must read section 5.116 to 5.120 of “Working Together to Safeguard Children” as revised in 2006.
The Initial Child Protection Conference is responsible for agreeing an outline child protection plan which will be developed within the core group. The plan should ensure that: the child is safe and that the plan will prevent further harm; promote the child's health and development and, provided it is in the best interests of the child; support the family and wider family members to safeguard and promote the welfare of the child. A leaflet explaining the work of the core group is available and a copy is filed in the Document Library of these procedures. The leaflet should be made available to all relevant members of core groups if required.
In cases where a child has both a child protection plan and becomes a child in care (dual status) the Board has agreed a policy regarding the continuation of the child protection plan. The policy on dual satus review arrangements can be found in the document library.
