Strategy Discussions/Meetings
The purpose of a strategy discussion is to plan on an inter-agency basis for those cases were a child is suspected of suffering from significant harm, including where emergency action is needed to protect the child. In order to understand where this fits into the process, please refer to flow diagrams 3 & 4 in the document library section of these procedures.
When a strategy discussion or meeting decides to pursue enquiries, this marks the opening of a section 47 enquiry and so the calling of the Initial Child Protection Conference must be within 15 working days of that decision being taken. Please see " Child Protection Conferences - General Information" available in the document library.
For information on those who are to be involved in a strategy discussion or meeting, please refer to "Strategy Discussion" also available in the document library.
