Children Missing from Education

Working Together to Safeguard Children (page 208) says:

"If a child or young person is receiving an education, not only do they have the opportunity to fulfil their potential, but they are also in an environment that enables local agencies to safeguard and promote their welfare.  If a child goes missing from education they may be at risk of significant harm."

There is a Child Missing Education (CME) named point of contact within Telford & Wrekin Council.Currently this is:

The Senior School Improvement Manager: Behaviour and Attendance; Tel: 01952 380845

Practitioners have a duty to inform their CME contact if they know or suspect a child is not receiving education.
