Information for professionals working with neglect

 The TWSCB has a thematic sub-group for neglect. The group is chaired by Marie Hatton (Principal Social Worker, Telford & Wrekin Council) and has the following key action areas:

  • The professional empowerment in the effective awareness and intervention of neglect; to include, development of an TWSCB neglect strategy and a practitioner toolkit
  • Development of the Child’s Lived Experience Model
  • Development of a toolkit to assist practitioners in dealing with neglect.
  • Development of a pathway to support children, particularly those approaching adolescence and beyond, in environments of neglect.
